I resigned, was frog marched off-site and have not received all outstanding pay

Hi

Some help and advice please.

I started a new sales job in the summer. However (long story short) the support and opportunity I had believed to be available sadly wasn't. I decided it was best for me to resign and try to find another job. The role was new to the company and not what I originally applied for.

My written resignation was worded very politely and apologetically, so I could leave on good terms. There is a PILON clause in the contract, so asked if we could discuss me taking the payment, but not working the 4 weeks notice so I could spend some time with my family.

Sadly the owners, who were based elsewhere, took it as a personal insult and made a colleague take my company car keys, laptop and mobile phone off me immediately. He then escorted me off site and said the owners never wanted to hear from me again! I was given no opportunity to discuss feedback on the role, negotiation of notice period etc.

I was left nearly 40 miles from home in the pouring rain!

With payday due last week I tried to contact all concerned but was referred to the owners with any 'payroll issues'. Alarm bells were ringing when the owners did not respond.

When I did receive pay into my account it was much lower than expected. I calculate it to be equivalent to the days worked, but excluding the notice pay and business fuel expenses incurred but not reimbursed.

Sadly I have heard they have done this before.

Any help is really appreciated as to how I can recover the outstanding money. I have been left in a very difficult financial situation.

Many thanks in advance.
