If I may I would like your thoughts on a situation I find myself in. I received a letter in January from Bryan Carter, entitled “Letter of Claim” dated 22nd January 2015. A response to this was sent which basically said, the debt was acknowledge and either provide evidence or close the file.
Bryan Carter then sent a lettered dated 3rd February 2015, which stated, “We are no longer instructed in this matter and our file has been closed”. – Win I thought.
Well today (13th February) I come home to a County Court Claim form;
Claimant : Lowell Portfolio
Address to send document / payment to: Bryan Carter.
As yet I have not acknowledge receipt of the claim (I will do that tomorrow).
This matter related to a Capital One credit card taken out before 2003. I don’t have any paperwork and I haven’t acknowledged the debt in anyway since 2008.
So what should I do next.
