I am being chased for a debt by a DCA that has bought it that I believe is almost statute barred.
I have ignored them so far but they are now threatening court action and I am worried that they will hit me with this just before the 6 year deadline.
I am not 100% sure of when it will become statute barred.Could somebody please clarify If its 6 months from the last payment date which is only a few weeks away or If its 6 years from the default date which is a few months away?
Should I continue to ignore them and hope the time passes or should I send them a denial of the debt and ask them to prove it?
I should also add that the debt is full of charges and PPI so I would defend anyway if they do decide to take me to court.
