I had been making regular repayments to welcome finance for a loan taken out in 2004. These stopped about 5 years ago, since then I've had letters from as many different companies at irregular intervals, I've ignored them! They've become less and less!
On Saturday I got one from Shoosmith saying they have been instructed by their client Cabot Financial to commence court proceedings.. They have said if I get a court decree registered against me it will affect me from any land or house I own in Scotland..I live in England!! Next they say they may be able to accept a sum less than the 414 pounds I owe!
What do I do? Ignore like all the rest or will it result in me being taken to Court? I did get a small amount of PPI on the account, so imagining this would be classed as a payment?? That was 4/5 years ago.
In this time I have also applied and been given a credit card, which I never thought I'd get because of this debt! But surprise surprise I did!
