A year ago in February I fell foul to British Passport Services, and they continued to try and charge me £117.00 for their 'Work'. After being told by the CAB to ignore all correspondence with them I was emailed saying that a Judgement from the County Court Business Centre had been returned to them as it was sent to a neighbour by accident who didnt know me. I contacted them asking for the judgement to be resent out to me and i received it. It says that I now owe the a total of £224.10 for costs and interest. Its also saying that goods can be removed if i dont pay.
My issues are, obviously after seeing all the latest fuss about The Daily Mail going to see the owner of the copy cat website etc, i'm now unsure of what to do. Is this an official document. Where do I go from here? I am a student, and dont have £155 to appeal the case, that is nearly the cost of the amount they have requested from me. However in a year or twos time I am going to be looking at buying a house and bad credit scores are really not something i want against me.
At the time of filling out all of the passport forms and everything, after i had completed it, less that an hour later, I emailed the company saying:
'I no longer need this appointment, please cancel'
I did not receive a response, so i continued to believe it had all been sorted. About 4 months later i recieved voicemail messages saying that I owed them money etc, and I just thought it was a phone scam as so many people get nowadays. After getting in touch with them and discussing the invoice they sent me a copy of it and it was brought to my attention that some of the things on the invoice i did not even receive.
Its been over a year now, and I really want this sorted. I don't want to waste more time at the CAB waiting in line in the cold for hours for them to tell me to ignore it all. Hope someone can help :( This is just a weight I really need lifted off of my shoulders. :(
Thanks
Taylor Blake
