My friends common law partner of twenty five years has passed away leaving no will, a letter with a cheque from his late fathers estate has just arrived in the post from her deceased partners share, the solicitors addressed the letter to my friend, with a Cheque from his estate which is written out to the Personal representative of the deceased her partner,but she is not the legal representative, can she take this Cheque to her bank and deposit into her account or is that illegal, what should she do.
