We paid a deposit (£90) on our sofa on 8th September and were told we would have it within 8 weeks (but that if there were any issues it might be as late as 12 but definitely would arrive before Christmas).
In late October we were contacted by Harveys to say there was a problem sourcing the material and there would be a delay meaning our sofa wouldn't arrive until late November.
As we had not heard anything by 21st we contacted them and they said it was on a shipment that hadn't arrived in the UK yet but that they would contact us when it was in the warehouse and again were guaranteed that it would be here before Christmas.
When we still hadn't heard anything by 8th December we contacted them again and were advised of the same thing but told the shipment would arrive w/c 15th.
That week arrived and still nothing from them so once again we contacted them and were told the shipment would arrive on Wednesday 17th and would be on a lorry up to the Ayr warehouse the next day. They said once it was in the warehouse we would get a call to pay the balance and arrange a delivery date.
My boyfriend (Innes Ovenstone) was called on Friday 19th December and asked for the balance (£810) and informed us the sofa would be delivered on Tuesday 23rd December.
As per Harveys instructions we arranged for our old sofa to be picked up no more than 24hrs in advance, which we did yesterday morning. My boyfriend then got a phone call at 11am to say there was a problem and they couldn't deliver the sofa but would give us a loan sofa in the meantime.
He called back and was told a 'Manager' would be in touch to arrange this, however no one called. I called their customer services number (0344 372 1000) to try and speak to someone regarding this but was fobbed off and again told that a manager would call back.
By the time I got back from work, we still had not received a call and we both spent an hour on the phone (joining at position 15) and every time we got to position one we were hung up on. I eventually got through to someone at 6:59pm (1 minute before they shut) who once again fobbed me off and told me that a manager would call me back.
You will not be surprised to hear that we have still not been called back and for 3hrs this morning I have had the same issue (this time joining at position at 25).
Harveys have our money but we have no goods, no loan goods (as promised), no old sofa, no information on when our sofa is coming, their stores are closed, there are no phone calls from managers offering any kind of compensation and no one can get through on their phone lines.
I really hope you can help us, there seems to be hundreds of people affected by this from what I can see on online forums, twitter and Facebook but we are all at a loss of what to do next.
