Query about overtime, contracted hours and holiday entitlement.

Hi, this is my first post on the forums and I am looking for some advice. I currently work for a security company on a 42 Hour/week contract. In September 2014 I changed roles within the business and now work 60 hours/week (12 hours of which are voluntary) as my new role requires me to work 4x12 hour shifts per week . However, when I booked my holiday for December for a week I was only given 42 hours holiday as per my contract of employment. In effect, by going on holiday I lose at least 6 hours pay per week (18 with the voluntary overtime). Surely this is unfair? I have read on these forums that there has been changes to holiday entitlement where overtime is concerned, and I am looking at the best way to proceed. As I foresee myself working 60 hours a week for the next few years can I insist that my employer changes my contract to 48 hours a week or 60 to reflect my actual work pattern?
