I recently took my girlfriend to Barnet general hospital, and bought a ticket. Previously no registration number was required. This time the machine asked me to enter my registration number, in error I entered just the number part, which is normally what is required in all the other car parks I use. I realised my error shortly after buying the ticket, but placed it on the dashboard as usual. We returned to the car later -no problems, and left.
I now have a PCN for £100 or £60 if paid within 14 days. I have appealed to Parking Eye, but they stated I won't hear from them until after the 14 days are up. Do I pay the £60 and hope that I will get it back if I'm successful, or wait and pay £100 if I lose?

What should I do?
