Hi,
I am a freelance web developer.
I have given a quote to build a website back in May 2014.
The quote was based on a Request For Proposal.
I originally quoted £180,000 + VAT as the website was very complex.
We agreed that I would build the website for £80,000 + VAT, but remove the complicated section of the website, agreed in email correspondence.
However, I forgot to remove it from the the quote (a Word document) that I sent to the client that they have now signed off.
I generally send an Invoice for 25% first for them to engage my services. I then insist on another 25% before I transfer anything on to their webservers. I have sent the client Invoices and they have paid, but they are now insisting I honour what was on the Word Document and build the complicated section of the website for just the £80,000 and not the £180,000 originally quoted.
I actually have no signed contract with the client. Just the quotation and paid invoices.
Where do i stand legally?
Any advice much appreciated.
