Please could anyone advise?

I have worked for an outsourcing company on a government contract for six years, the first four being with a different company and TUPED over to the current employer in 2013. The contract is due

to end in march next year and as there are nearly 1000 people employed on the contract redundancies are expected. There has been a massive increase in disciplinary actions taken against employees in the last few months with over forty investigations in the last six weeks. The onsite Union Reps have been inundated have now been informed that they are being removed from the departments and teams they have been with for years due to increased union activities causing targets not to be met. I am the seventh person on my team of sixteen to find myself in the position of being under investigation, I have included a timeline of the investigation so far and could anyone advise me if it is normal to take this long to resolve as the thought of having to face disciplinary action for a completely untrue allegation and after the distress of the last few weeks is unbearable.

As background I have also had to cope with my mother being rushed to hospital with a life threatening condition resulting in a seven hour operation from which she has been recovering in hospital for the last six weeks. My manager is aware of the situation as I have been called to the hospital twice in work time due to my mothers’ deteriorating condition.

11/02/2015 - Return to work on phased return (phased for four weeks at doctors request)

18/02/2015 - Address details requested by Manager

27/02/2015 - Handed a letter in impromptu meeting on office floor which I thought was the details of occupational health appointment. I was told to open the letter and then informed I was under investigation which would be concluded by 05/03/2015

04/03/2015 – Email to Investigation Manager to request an update.

05/03/2015 - Email response stating I would be receiving a letter at my home address for a review meeting to discuss the information. This would be as soon as process allows the following Thursday. I then asked for a meeting with my manager again conducted on the office floor. I was extremely distressed due to not knowing the nature of the allegation, my manager stated it was nothing to do with him. At this point, due to my distress, other managers on the floor became involved and I was advised to see the investigation manager who then gave me an indication of the allegation – that a customer call recorded on 01/09/2014 did not match the details entered on the database. This was due to a customer complaint (unrelated) which caused calls to be listened to.

09/03/2015 - Letter received at home inviting me to an “investigation hearing” together with a copy of the information to be discussed – not case specific. The “hearing” would be held 13/03/2015 with investigator and my manager would be present as note taker.

13/03/2015 -Meeting held 09:30am with union rep who looked at evidence with me. It was obvious that there was a distinct difference in the call data logged on the two telephone recording systems with numbers called showing on one system not on the other and vice versa. Rep informed me that as the letter stated I was attending a “hearing” there would be a resolution on the day.

Investigation meeting held at 10:am After introduction, Rep asked if this was a hearing as she inferred from this it was a disciplinary, she was advised it was a meeting and the letter was generic. I was then asked for my input and asked about the conflicting call reports, the meeting was immediately adjourned until the following Tuesday 17/03/2015 for further investigation of the call reports.

17/03/2015 - Email received advising an enquiry had been raised with IT to review calls stored which had not yet been returned but I would be informed as soon as the information was returned I would be informed and the meeting reconvened.

25/03/2015 – I was approached in work today by an acquaintance who asked how I was and proceeded to inform me in front of my team that the information requested had been returned from IT and showed no new information. This person has nothing to do with the investigation .

Sorry for the length of this post.
