How I dealt with a nuisance caller

mardi 3 février 2015

On Tuesday afternoon my landline phone rang. I rarely use it nowadays and have actually thought about getting rid off the whole thing.

Anyway, the conversation went something like:

- Is it Mr $quanda£ot, asked a lady with American/Canadian accent?

- Yes, speaking.

- Do you have a central heating?

- Yes, I do, why?

- It's about energy...

- Well, I'm very happy with my current supplier and not going to change...

- I'm not asking you to...

- To carry on, I need to ask some security questions.

- Well, uhm, ok.

- What is your full name?

- My name is Jane Smith

- What is the full name of the company you are representing?

- Consumer...

- What is your mother's maiden name?

- Oh, uhm, hmh

- I asked you what your mother's maiden name was. To carry on this conversation I need to go through the security. Ok, what's your religion?

- What?

- Now, do you actually like girls or boys?

- I don't have time for this. Thank you any way.

So the lady hang up.

I bet this will work with everyone, including debt collectors if they are silly enough to ring me!,
